My experience and notes regarding deviation from the step-by-step manual:

Installed on a slow Rasp PI 2. Works OK, but a bit slow a few times. Reccommended PI would be a Rasp PI 4.

  • Did not duplicate GIThub project but downloaded and installed manually.
  • Contrib : node-red-node-sqlite failed.
  • Installed manually in console with :

npm i –unsafe-perm node-red-node-sqlite

  • Flow reported mssing contrib node-red-contrib-simple-gate
    Installed successfully via Palette Manager
  • Minor errors in Design. Exchange had an extra space in the Value code

Mistakes done when installing:

  • Manged to import flows double, which made a mess. Easy way out to start over is to click the hamburger icon > Projects and make a new Project

 

Security:

If not using VPN tunnels, secure the incoming rules to limit source IP
