LA100B is the centenary call sign for “Bergensgruppen av NRRL” and will be used throughout 2022. Our usual call sign is LA1B and we also use LN1B in contests.

In 2022, Bergensgruppen av NRRL celebrates its first 100 years. Our club was founded on 25 November 1922 under the name Bergens Radio Amatør Klub (Bergen Radio Amateur Club).  The foundation took place in Hotel Transatlantic in Bryggen (the Wharf). It was only fitting that the club was founded in Hotel Transatlantic, only few months after the first transatlantic contact between radio amateurs.

After becoming a member of Norsk Radio Relæ Liga (Norwegian Radio Relay League, NRRL) when NRRL was founded in 1928, the club’s name was changed to Bergensgruppen av NRRL, in accordance with NRRL’s rules.
